Wǔxíng (五行) is an ancient Chinese philosophical concept that describes the dynamic interaction of five elements: Wood (木), Fire (火), Earth (土), Metal (金), and Water (水). These elements serve as a framework for understanding the structure of the universe and the constant transformations within it.
The more I thought about this concept, the more I felt compelled to create my own series dedicated to these five elements.
This idea evolved into a collection of five works, each representing one of the elements. They were captured on deadstock film, which allowed me to achieve a distinct sense of silence, softness, and tranquility.
In the future, I hope to continue expanding this series, shaping it into a meditative tool—one that encourages reflection on the deep interconnection of all things in this world.
